- Ceramic or natural stone base
- The base plate must have completed a curing period of 28 days and be clean, dry and free of dust and grease
- The base plate should remain at a temperature between 5 and 30 °C and should not hold a surface unevenness greater than 5 mm, otherwise it should undergo regularisation as before

- Indoor bonding (always double bonding) of ceramic and natural stone up to 1,200 x 600 mm on plaster, concrete and cement sill membranes or up to 1,200 x 900 mm on screed floors or underfloor heating or up to 600 x 600 mm on garage floors
- Outdoor bonding (always double bonding) of ceramic and natural stone up to 800 x 500 x 15 mm on or 500 x 15 mm on façades less than 6 m or flooring up to 800 x 800 mm on screed floors and cement sill membranes and ceramic sheet up to 1,000 x 1,000 mm
Base plate preparation
The base plate should be clean, dry, free of grease and consistent. If bonding is carried out on high-absorption base plates or under unfavourable heat and wind conditions, the base plates must be slightly dampened before applying the cement adhesive.
Mortar preparation
Mix, preferably with a low-speed electric agitator, CERAfix with clean water (22 to 24 % water, i.e. 5.5 to 6 litres of water per bag). Let this paste rest for about 2 minutes, after which it will obtain a creamy and homogeneous consistency and will be ready for application. Use the mixture within 30 minutes.
Placement
Apply CERAfix cement adhesive in the area to be covered, in proportions appropriate for the work pace, using a notched trowel. On this layer, apply the parts to be bonded, adjusting them with a rubber mallet to press the cement adhesive bead, ensuring that the thickness of the cement adhesive between the base plate and the parts is no less than 7 mm after the bead has been pressed. On larger parts or whenever greater efficiency is desired, perform double bonding (part and base plate). For exceptional attachment, it is recommended to staple the parts. Make joints between parts, protecting the coating from expansions and contractions.
