Suitable for bonding medium-sized and high- and medium-absorption parts, such as rustic tile, tile, terracotta and medium-porosity stoneware.
The surfaces must be free from dust, release agents, loose debris, efflorescence or other materials that may impair the bonding of the adhesive cement. The surfaces must be properly prepared. If bonding is carried out on a vertical surface where the weather conditions are unfavourable, including wind and high temperatures, it must be taken into account that the ambient humidity and temperature will influence both the start of the setting and the total drying time of the adhesive cement. This should preferably be mixed mechanically with a low-speed electric stirrer until a soft, consistent, lump-free paste is obtained. Each 25 kg bag requires 6 l of water. The cement adhesive must be applied on bases in quantities appropriate for the work pace, and air-temperature and humidity conditions at the time. The parts to be bonded must be dry and free from dust and remnants of release agents. The use of joints between the parts must be planned and they must be filled with the Kolfill grouting. Once applied to the base, it should be spread using a notched trowel or comb. On this, apply the part to be bonded, tightening it until the adhesive cement bead is pressed using a rubber mallet. The thickness of the adhesive cement layer after pressing must not be less than 7 mm. For larger parts or in situations where greater bonding efficiency is desired, perform double bonding.
