Maximum comfort
- Designed for use with tangential impact drivers for even faster and safer work, as there is no back torque and therefore no strain on the wrist.
- Patent-pending geometry with three chip surfaces between the individual step transitions for completely smooth, perfectly controlled drilling with minimal effort.
- Patent-pending SMART STEP tip geometry with extremely unequal pitch for drilling with minimal force and perfect tool guidance.
Maximum service life due to nanoProtect coating and HSCo cutting material
- Up to 12 times longer than conventional stepped drill bits with coating.
Maximum speed
- Up to 4 times faster than conventional stepped drill bits with coating.
Maximum precision
- Precise, circular holes without tearing or splintering.
- Precise spot drilling without running off centre, as well as simple boring or enlarging of an existing drill hole.
- Greatly reduced formation of burrs.
- No warping of sheet metal.
Maximum flexibility in the application
- Can be used universally with almost all materials.
- Can be used in tangential impact drivers as well as conventionally in drill/drivers or with box column and pillar drills.
1/4 inch hexagon bit shank, type E
- Secure hold and optimal power transmission in the drill chuck.
- Extremely fast tool change in tangential impact drivers.
- No snagging at the hole exit.
Available exclusively from WÜRTH
Product packaging made from 100 % PCR (recycled plastic from household waste) and 100 % recyclable.
- Use suitable adapters: For use with 1/2 inch impact wrenches; use only adapters specially designed for use with metal machining tools with 1/4 inch type E hexagon bit shank in conjunction with tangential impact drivers. It is strongly advised against using any other adapter (e.g. for bits) as this could cause the stepped drill bit to break.
- Use with impact wrenches: Make sure that drilling is not carried out at too high a speed without impact. Allow the tangential impact to start as soon as possible. An adequate contact pressure adapted to the respective step diameter supports the use of the impact function and prevents excessive cutting speeds. Do not drill at high speed without impact and do not increase the contact pressure until later, as this can lead to rapid overheating and premature cutting edge wear.
- Use coolant and lubricant: Before drilling, apply coolant and lubricant to the cutting edges of the individual stages - especially when processing steel and stainless steel. If the lubricant melts due to the heat generated, interrupt the drilling process, allow the stepped drill bit to cool down and apply lubricant again. Otherwise, the cutting edges may overheat and wear out.
- Apply at a right angle: Guide the stepped drill bit as perpendicular as possible to the workpiece surface. Tilting can suddenly increase the cutting depth and thus lead to increased cutting edge wear or breakouts.
- Observe the battery status: On battery-operated machines, ensure that the battery is sufficiently charged and check its degree of ageing. A weak or worn battery can lead to uneven cutting performance and a shorter service life of the stepped drill bit.
- Observe the speed table.
- The ideal tool for machining sheet metal.
- Centring, spot drilling, boring and deburring of sheet metal, tubes and profiles in one operation, for use on both hand drills and stationary equipment.
- Ideal for use in electrical trade, plumbing and heating systems, automotive workshops, mechanical engineering, switch cabinet manufacturing or container and equipment engineering.
- Ideal for use in tangential impact drivers.
- Ideal for use in cordless drivers as well as on hand, box column and pillar drills.
- For universal use in almost all materials, such as stainless steel (e.g. V2A, V4A), heat-resistant steels and titanium. Also for general applications in conventional steel up to 1,400 N/mm², as well as in cast iron, aluminium, plastic, non-ferrous metals, compact and hard wood as well as soft and light wood.
- For materials with a material thickness of up to 3.5 mm.
