Self-curing resin powder with low formaldehyde emission for hot-gluing of wooden surfaces
  • Because of the low emission of formaldehyde, the product, when used in presses with temperature below 80°C, is quite slow in bonding, e.g.: 60°C = 11 min. 80°C = 3 min

  • Self-extinguishing (without oxidizing products the product is self-extinguishing), if the materials used in the manufacture are fireproof, the glue does not change flammability of the piece

  • Self-hardening urea glue powder, good solubility

  • Long open time and long life in the cup

  • Good resistance to water and solvents, to limit problems with bubbles in the painting stage, low bleed and high adhesiveness

  • Low outcrop on veneer surfaces

  • Good filling power to enable levelling of unevenness of the panel (do not exceed slopes greater than 0.2 mm)

  • With max. coating of 100 g/m2, the manufactured product falls into formaldehyde emission class E1
Notice

The times should be increased by 1 minute for each millimetre of thickness

Rigid-tough glue line. If the backing material is not hard veneer, particularly when wet, there may be cracking

Caution with wood with tannin!

Do not apply under 6°C. Protect from frost

Storage at temperatures below 5°C and above 35°C can cause damage to the product

Application area

It is used for veneers by means of a hot press of wood, plywood, solid wood panels and wood compounds (particle board, MDF, plywood, etc.) and for the production of hollow-core

The glue is suitable for interior furniture, where there is possible occasional exposure to water or humidity, short and occasional exposure to high ambient humidity

Production of hollow-core, finishing with hot veneers: fir, pine, poplar, beech, oak, cherry, walnut, chestnut

Instructions

Mix the resin in non-metallic containers with cold water (15-20°C) in the weight ratio: 2 (resin) to 1 (water) or in volume ratio: 4 (resin) to 1 (water). Dispersion is carried out by stirring, adding half the water needed to the resin until the product has no lumps. Then add remaining water and shake until achieving a full dispersion. Spreading the glue with glue roller or by brushing. The quantity must be dosed according to the porosity of the underlying material between 100 and 200 g/m2. Before the hot pressing, ensure that the glue is moist and sticky. Hard and resinous woods such as birch, ash, burr or tropical woods such as teak, rosewood, acacia etc. may require special formulations. Add D3 glue with variable percentage from 10% to 30% depending on the type of work and wood, do not add to vinyl adhesives when gluing cherry. It is necessary perform preliminary tests before proceeding with the gluing

Open time:

10 – 15 minutes. This is the maximum time that can elapse between spreading and pressing at a temperature of 20°C both for the environment and for the wood, coating of 150 g/m2, air humidity 50% and moisture content of the wood 10%

This time is reduced if:

  • it is spread less than 150 g/m2

  • the temperature is above 20°C

  • the air humidity is lower than 50%

  • the wood humidity is below 10%

  • if the gluing takes place in environments with particularly hot air currents

Increases if:

  • if spreading more than 150 g/m2

  • the temperature is lower than 20°C

  • the air humidity is higher than 50%

  • the wood humidity is above 10%

Setting time:

This is the time that the item must remain pressed at a temperature of:

60°C/11 minutes

80°C/3 minutes

00°C/70 seconds

temperature of 20°C for environment and wood, coating of 150 g/m2, air humidity 50% and moisture content of the wood 10%

Viscosity:

  • not to be confused with the density; this is the difficulty of the product to flow

  • 4000 ± 800 mPas, sol. 2: 1 powder/water

  • to allow the coating with a roller or brush
